Common questions
What's the difference between Open Graph and Twitter Card tags?+
Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, etc.) are the standard used by Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, and most other platforms. X/Twitter has its own twitter: tags, but it also falls back to Open Graph tags if a matching twitter: tag isn't present — this tool generates both so every platform gets what it needs.
What image size should I use for Open Graph tags?+
1200 × 630px is the safe standard for the large-image card and works well across Facebook, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter. Keep the file under roughly 5–8MB and use JPG or PNG for the widest compatibility.
Why isn't my image showing up when I share a link?+
Most platforms cache the preview the first time a URL is shared. If you change the image or tags afterward, use that platform's own debugger/inspector tool (e.g. Facebook Sharing Debugger, LinkedIn Post Inspector) to force a re-scrape.
Do I need both og:image and twitter:image?+
Not strictly — X/Twitter will fall back to og:image if twitter:image is missing. Setting both explicitly just gives you more control if you ever want a different image per platform.
Does this tool fetch or store my image?+
No — it only previews the image URL you type directly in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, crawled, or sent to a server.
