What image sizes does this generate?+
A favicon.ico bundling 16×16 and 32×32, standalone favicon-16x16.png and favicon-32x32.png files, a 180×180 apple-touch-icon.png, and 192×192 and 512×512 android-chrome PNGs for Android home screens and PWA manifests.
What image should I upload?+
A square (or near-square) image with a simple, high-contrast mark works best — logomarks and icons hold up far better than full logos with text once scaled down to 16×16. Non-square images are automatically center-cropped.
Do I need a favicon.ico, or are PNGs enough?+
Modern browsers support PNG favicons directly, but favicon.ico is still the file browsers request by default at the site root (/favicon.ico) if no link tag is present, so it's worth keeping as a fallback.
Where do I upload the generated files?+
Place them at the root of your site (e.g. /favicon.ico, /apple-touch-icon.png) or in your framework's public/static assets folder, then add the generated HTML tags inside your page's <head>.
Is my image uploaded to a server?+
No — every size is rendered locally using the browser's Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
